"The Leaf has arrived in Sweden. Nissan says sales of the award-winning electric will officially kick off in Nordic country in the coming weeks and that the first batch of electric hatchbacks will be delivered to Swedes in early 2012.

At 329,990 Swedish krona ($49,517 U.S. at the current exchange rate), including VAT and Sweden's newly announced "supergreen" incentive, Nissan says the Leaf costs nearly the same as a conventional compact hatch. The price of Leaf in Sweden without incentives is 369,900 krona ($55,306 U.S.). That may sound like is a lot when compared to the price of the U.S. Leaf, but cars are simply more expensive in Sweden. Also, all Sweden-bound Leafs come equipped with air conditioning, satellite navigation, rear-view parking camera, a quick-charge socket and the cold-weather package. We're not sure how many Leafs will be allotted to Sweden, but it's almost guaranteed to be a small number – after all, only 40 were sent to Canada this year – so if you want to reserve a Leaf in Sweden, head on over to Nissan's Nordic site."
