Mais um Crash Test a ser efectuado ao LEAF nos EUA. (Nissan LEAF Car To Be Crash Tested By NHTSA)

"The Nissan LEAF vehicle recently received the “Top Safety Pick” Award from the IIHS, Now, the electric vehicle will be put to the test by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The NHTSA announced yesterday that it plans to conduct crash tests on the Nissan LEAF vehicle and the Chevy Volt. The organization has already received a few Volts to test, but they are still working on obtaining some Nissan LEAF cars.
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration spokeswoman Karen Aldana said NHTSA “is currently working on testing the Nissan LEAF and Chevy Volt for compliance with federal safety requirements and further plans to test the vehicles under its new Five Star Safety Ratings program.”
In 2010, the NHTSA changed their ratings program and made it harder to win a five-star rating. Both the Nissan LEAF and the Chevy Volt received good marks on crash ratings by the The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, so one can assume that both vehicles will do well when tested by the NHTSA.
The Nissan LEAF and the Volt are both currently unrated on NHTSA’s website. At this time, it is not certain whether or not the government will release the ratings, when they come in, for either vehicle."
